Machine Assembler-Fitter

Education & Experience

Skilled Trades Certification as Industrial Mechanic Millwright, Tool & Die Maker or Machine-Tool Builder

Experience in Machine Assembly in the following areas is expected:
Assemble equipment as shown on assembly drawing and apply fitting know-how to any unclear or missing fine details
Fit customer parts to the tools, making shim and grinding adjustments to meet required print tolerances
Machining with conventional machine tools (Mill, Lathe, Grinder) as required
Work closely with PLC & Robot programmers, electricians & fluid power fitters to make mechanical modifications to the system, tooling & process
Trouble-shooting tooling, fixtures, motion
Install & commission systems at customer’s site
Machinery moving and rigging
Safely use lift truck & overhead cranes
Document process details, SR&ED activities, mark-up drawings with changes

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

Assembly & Fitting of welding systems and tooling
Knowledge of weld inspection and tear-down procedures
Ability to jog and modpos robots (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, others)
CWB Certification
Fluid power piping, trouble-shooting

Other Requirements:
A valid Ontario driver’s license
Willing to travel customers’ facilities for installation and commissioning purposes
A valid Passport and the ability to travel throughout North American without restriction
Competency in English (both verbal and written)
