Lead Hand – Electrical

Education & Experience

Skilled Trade Certification as Journey-person or Master Electrician (Industrial)

Experience in Machine Wiring in the following areas is expected:

Plan electrical department resources and contractors work-loads to meet schedules and manage costs
Order non-BoM items required to complete projects
Wire equipment as shown on drawing and apply industry know-how to any unclear or missing fine details
Solve problems for electrical dept
Wire and troubleshoot Low (24VDC) and High (up to 600VAC), signal, network (DeviceNet, EtherNET IP, Ethernet, ProfiBus, others)
Ensure all wiring meets or exceeds Provincial and National Electrical standards
Verify wiring of team members meets or exceeds Provincial and National Electrical standards
Install and commission systems at customer’s site
Assist Plant manager in reviewing and managing Electricians, Contractors, Apprentices
Basic computer and use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • This role is approximately 1/3rd planning/organizing and 2/3rd hands on work

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

Basic PLC programming (Rockwell, others)
Ability to jog and modpos robots (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, others)
Robotics systems experience
Wiring of welding systems

Other Requirements:

  • A valid Ontario driver’s license
  • Willing to travel customers’ facilities for meetings and commissioning purposes
  • A valid Passport and the ability to travel throughout North American without restriction
  • Competency in English (both verbal and written)
