Lead Robotics Programmer

This newly-created position is ideal for an expert robot-weld engineer or technologist who can help both lead a team and work hands-on along side them.  In this role, you will:

  • Supervise robotics programming and weld development resources from simulation through on-site execution
  • Coordinate with engineering and build staff & management to resolve issues
  • Train existing and new staff to raise overall experience level in the group
  • Develop FH standards for robotics and integration
  • Spend approximately 25% of time supervising and 75% of time hands-on

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree preferred
  • 5+ years in automation engineering role with 5+ years hands on experience


  •  8+ years in technical role in direct welding robotics experience
  • Advanced MIG welding experience required, preferably with Steel and Aluminum
  • Resistance welding experience
  • Advanced Robotics programming experience (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman required, exposure to Kuka, Nachi, Panasonic are ideal)
  • Experience with WTC-Medar, Bosch and Miyachi weld controls
  • Experience with Lincoln, Miller and Fronius GMAW power sources
  • Exposure to Laser cutting and welding power sources like IPG, Trumpf ideal
  • Broad knowledge of industry standard inspection & QA processes and techniques (Gauging, Tear-down, Cut & Etch, destructive & non-destructive)

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • A Passport and the ability to travel throughout North American without restriction
